How many appointments will I need?

Your practitioner will be able to give you an idea of how many treatments you should need at the end of your first consultation. It is our aim to get you better as quickly as is possible.

What happens when I visit?

A full case history will be taken when you will be asked many questions, both about your main presenting problem and other general aspects of your health and lifestyle. Your practitioner will then administer a treatment and advise you on other aspects of your life, diet and health in order to give a holistic treatment plan.

Will my treatment hurt?

Treatments should not be painful, you may experience some slight and passing discomfort, however, any sensation will be temporary and should ultimately lead to an improvement in your symptoms.

How long is an appointment?

Your first appointment will last between a 45 minutes and an hour, subsequent treatments are half an hour long.

What should I wear?

You will be required to undress to your underclothes, modest underwear is advised.

Am I too old or to young?

Patients from the age of 0 to 100 are welcomed for treatment.

Should I visit a GP first?

Your GP may refer you for acupuncture (if you are a private health plan holder your policy may cover the cost of your treatment- see below).  As a private clinic you can refer yourself and discuss your symptoms before you commit to treatment. If you are not sure what type of treatment is appropriate please call to discuss with our receptionist.

What if I have private medical insurance?

We are registered with many private medical providers; please speak to your GP for a referral via your own medical insurance supplier or call them direct to find out whether your treatment is covered by your policy.

What will it cost per treatment and for the initial consultation?

Initial consultations are free and last for 15 minutes; subsequent prices vary but expect to pay approx. £70 for a first treatment and £55 thereafter.

Do you offer student discounts?

Discounts are offered for students, children, OAPs and those on reduced incomes- please call the clinic for information.
